We farm
Beef, Pork,
Lamb and Poultry.
Please ask our butcher for advice, he will cut and joint
the meat to your requirements.
We produce beef from an organic herd of Dexter cattle. At the time of writing, Dexter's have never suffered an outbreak of BSE. A relatively small breed, they produce wonderful meat highly prized amongst chefs. The meat is hung for two or three weeks to allow the flavour to develop. Our butcher will joint and cut to your requirements. We produce pork from an organic herd of Gloucester Old Spot pigs. These animals lead an idyllic lifestyle, spending the summer rooting in the fields and coming inside during the worst of winter. Their diet is supplemented by organic fruit and veg together with left over wheat from a local windmill. Our herd do not receive routine antibiotics. Dry-cured bacon is also made from our old-spot pork. We cross North Country Mule ewes with a Suffolk tup, resulting in a large lamb with a good bone to meat ratio which after hanging and maturing gives an excellent texture and mouth-watering taste.
